Hello!
God is faithful! That
is the testimony of every Christian, no matter what! Like the Israelite we need
to raise up an Ebenezer, "a stone of help" to remind us the
faithfulness of God. "Thus far God has helped us," and will continue
to help.
Was 2015 a hard year,
and you are feeling discouraged or intimidated as the new challenges of the New
Year 2016 coming? Recall the faithfulness of God like the Psalmist, Jeremiah, and Isaiah. Lamentation 3: 18, 21 reads, "And I said, My strength and my
hope is perished from the LORD: This I recall to my mind, therefore have I
hope."
Are you lacking
strength and determination to face the demands of life in this New Year 2016?
Isaiah 40:31 says, your strength shall be renewed if you WAIT on God. You will
never faint, you will never weary how hard life seems to be. That means God's
supernatural strength will carry you through.
Paul waited on God and was not depressed nor had given up despite his sufferings and trials.
WAITING on God is trusting Him and relying on Him alone for anything because HE
is FAITHFUL. Oh! We need to raise our Ebenezer to constantly remind ourselves
of His FAITHFULNESS!
Having said that, let
me remind you that our God is the everlasting God, the eternal and infinite
God. There is nothing new or old to Him. Past is present, and the future is present
for Him. Nothing threatens Him; neither of past nor of uncertain future.
If we live with that
perspective of eternity, since we, Christians, are called out to eternal life,
we need not be emotional in our New Year Resolutions: nothing to be afraid, and
nothing to be regretting much.
It also means that we
do not need to be "super excited" because New Year has come. Every
day is a new day, at the same time, no day is a new day in an eternal
perspective. Take not or consider not as an auspicious day where you feel you
are nearer to God than any other day. Break away from empty ritual thinking,
and be worshipful to God. Live with the perspective of eternity and be
thankful, and be hopeful because He is FAITHFUL!
