Exhortation: Be sensitive to the leading of the Spirit
Have you
got trouble with unpardonable sin? Many people do because Jesus talks about the
impossibility of forgiveness of this sin. In other words, those who commit this
sin seal themselves to eternal doom. By the way, there is no comfort in sinning
at all. Each of our sins we know of should trouble us enough into confession
and repentance for forgiveness (1 John 1:9).
However,
there is this sin which will not be forgiven. If you are troubled and fearful,
most likely, you have not committed this sin. Christian, those who are indwelt
by Spirit has never and will never commit this sin. This sin is committed as a
result of ongoing habitual sin. It is committed when one deliberately rejects
the work of Spirit or the testimony of
Spirit concerning Jesus Christ. The one who commits this sin has reached to the
point of no return thus, heading towards eternal hell.
Jesus is
warning Christian not to tamper our conscience. We should renounce all sins so
that we will not be carried away by sin. The genuineness of a Christian is not
measured by one moment of time, but the whole life he lives from the profession
of faith till death. Judas Iscariot did not survive till end manifesting that
he is not a genuine disciple.
Beloved,
you must be sensitive to the leading of
the Spirit. Eph. 4:30 tells us not to grieve the Spirit. You grieve Him when
you sin. Without repentance of sin, and without trusting God’s faithfulness you
will never have the assurance that you have not committed this sin.
